Birth of Capitalism, The Golden Age of Flanders

The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the Golden Age of the Southern Netherlands. This was the world’s ‘Silicon Valley’ of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The economic power of the County of Flanders and the Duchy of Brabant as the technological, industrial and trade epicentre of the world is showcased here. ‘The Birth of Capitalism’ sheds a new light on this economic and cultural golden age of the Southern Netherlands.
